People/Roles Aryans, Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha), Gupta, Asoka

Places/Institutions subcontinent, Indus, Mohenjo Daro

Events Mauryan Empire, Gupta dynasty, metallurgy, inoculation, astronomy, Hindu- Arabic numerals

Use files Indus-Indiacivtext and Indus River terms in ebackpack to identify terms.  8-3 students should look at Chapter 6 over Indus River Valley in textbook.

HW: Civ guide should be finished tomorrow so students can complete concept map.

7th Grade

 Oral reading  in Chap. 4 and discussion about slavery and how it became the main debate/issue from 1820-1850.  Also discussion over Kansas-Neb Act, popular sovereignty, and roles of Lincoln/Douglas in the debate of slavery.  

HW:  Read and complete questions 1-3 on pg 72 over Lincoln's speech.

Complete Iceman interview-  There are many mysteries surrounding the Iceman of the Alps.  Students are asked to pretend that Mr. Herlocker is able to bring the "Iceman of the Alps" back through a time machine and they must interview him and find out how he died and the who what when where and why of how he lived.  Students should ask 10 questions and then answer those ten questions as if they were the Iceman to solve this ancient mystery.
